It is an inspiring saga of India’s first modern school of thought ushered in by the protagonist couple, Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, along with also yet another couple, their friends and partners in the cause. At a time when girls were not allowed formal education, they founded the first school for girls and were champions against discrimination based on castes and gender. Their work empowered women and encouraged independence through education. The documentary shows their boldness, challenges and legacy to education and equality in India. It’s a testament to their dreams of a more just society and the tremendous, enduring impact they made on shaping the future for generations of children.
